A.F.R. Discovery Kids World Academy's Older toddler Program is a comfortable, smooth transition point, a stopping-off between our toddler and preschool programs, as children's self-control , personal awareness and self help skills such as toilet training are getting stronger. They chatter with their neighbors during Circle Time, investigate the way a mirror reflects the sun, and solve shape puzzles. Teachers foster self-esteem and social interaction skills. Here, they learn letter sounds , science, math, music and more, through hands-on experiences.

By incorporating sight, sound, texture, taste and smell, our curriculum excites toddlers' senses.
If children are still learning toilet training, caregivers help complete the lesson.

The Toddler curriculum promotes verbal ability, critical thinking and cognitive, physical, social and emotional skills. Learning centers contain more complex materials, matching the increasing abilities of Older Toddlers. Teachers guide children's exploration of the arts, dramatic play, books and literacy, small manipulatives and math, science . Small and large group activities promote social interaction and allow the entire class to explore interesting, exciting themes. Because children learn best through play, all activities include fun and laughter.
Well-planned rest times give them a chance to recoup, readying them for adventure and fun. Naptime is a necessity for these busy little bodies and naps are taken on personal cots, with any security items children bring from home.
We know that your toddler is always on the move, investigating how things work and testing limits. The Toddler curriculum provides plenty of time for children to explore and play, in a safe, secure environment. Nurturing, experienced teachers help form the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.
Closed-circuit security cameras monitor rooms. Cupboards are locked for safety, outlets are covered or are out of children's reach . Health and safety procedures include daily toy and surface sanitation, the laundering of bedding and washcloths, and regular handwashing by teachers and students. Child-friendly toilet facilities encourage self-help skills.
Toddlers demonstrate their increased physical and social skills and awareness during self-directed exploration time and group activities. Plenty of play, both indoors and outdoors, stimulates the senses.
