We are both an Academic and Developmental program. We help children reach developmental milestones by providing an environent and lesson plans that strengthen large and small muscles, as well as teaching social and emotional skills. Our academic program starts with every child the moment they start coming and continues at his or her own pace with fun and absolutely no pressure. Every child receives personal weekly lesson Plans. We have storytime twice a day and circle time at 9 am in the morning. We strengthen cognitive skills through monthly Science and Social Studies themes. These themes encorporate:

math : problem solving, numerals, sets. patterns, graphing, shapes,
and many more.
Rich Oral Language Program: Receptive and Expresive in English mostly and some Spanish , German, and French, and now Chinese.
Rich Sign Language Program: (Receptive and Expresive) We sign as we are speaking with the children. We encourage them to answer us with the spoken word and sign.
Literacy: Story Time and Circle time = listening skills , ZOO Phonics = letter sounds and names, Phonological Awareness = Sound patterns and Rhymes, Print rich environment, and many letter, reading games and leveled books.
Writing: Our writing center encourages writing for even the smallest of toddlers. We help each child progress to new levels on a consistent basis. Going from marking to letter chasing.

Children who go through our program enter kindergarten reading at a national second grade level or higher and are much more mature and able to handle new situations than same age peers.

AFR Childcare allows children time to discover, pretend, dawdle and play. The program is child-centered, and for the most part, child-driven. It does not place values of good or bad on children's efforts or the products of those efforts. The goal is to encourage children to try new things, recognize their efforts and facilitate and reward their successes.

We believe self-esteem flows from success working at the business of living. We provide program opportunities for children that allow them to direct their own activities and through which they can experience success and learn from failure. We envision teachers as there to explain, encourage, facilitate and provide comfort to the children as they pursue things that interest them.
