Why ? these Languages

Signing Times series 1 consists of around 18 videos who use English to teach A S L.

English vocabulary is taught by Rachel Coleman, children and and a Frog. The children here sign, and sing along with the videos. We use one video a month. and not everyday. After a few days of each month the children are able to sign the vocabulary on their own and no longer need the video.

Infants and Toddlers are taught by us during their play, and are not sat down to watch videos.

Infants as young as 7 months can let you know what they need and want by signing instead of crying.

Studies show that Sign language does not hinder a child from speaking. A child can sign a word 6 months before they can say it. Sign language comes from a different part of the brain than oral language and is natural to children.

Speach Therapist use sign language as well as PECS to help children who have speach and language disabilities to speak.

How do you teach ? and How, Do I know what my child is saying ?

We keep the parents informed by :

Providing vocabulary words

Allowing parents to check out videos over the weekend.

And of course the children themselves will let the parents know when they are able.
